The Defence Academy’s International Section, along with academic partners from Cranfield University, recently delivered a Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context to the Moldovan Ministry of Defence Post Graduate Education Course.
Twenty-six delegates from government departments with an interest in security contributed to a fantastic, enlightening week of wide-ranging discussion. Delegates undertook exercises to better understand the regional security drivers, to draft policies and legislation to help promote security and learned how frameworks can help communicate more effectively.
Lt Col Dom Spencer, International Section said:
“In a challenging geo-political environment, the pride and determination for Moldova to prosper was uplifting and the open, frank discussions of the challenges refreshing. The course was opened by the Minister of Defence and British Ambassador, with the Prime Minister’s spokesperson also attending sessions. A great example of how mutually enriching the course can be while delivering excellent high level defence engagement; thank you everyone in Chisinau!”
